The 2016-17 reading bowl season has drawn to a close, and the Mustangs took third place in the regional competition.

The Mustangs fell just out of the two advancing positions, losing out to Cambridge and Arabia Mountain High Schools.

“We did all we could,” said Rachel Brown, senior, “We knew our material, but the other teams were just a little faster.”

For Brown and her fellow senior Philip Maeser, Saturday’s competition was their last as Mustangs.

For the returning members, however, preparations for next season has begun as competitors have begun turning in this year’s books while making plans to read next year’s.
