Cason Barnett, sophomore, umpires during the fourth inning. This was an umpire training game.

On Feb. 9, Ola took it to the field  against Luella and won with a score of 6-5. The coldness and windy weather didn’t stop the players from playing their hardest.

“It’s pretty great… the momentum is going to help for the next game and throughout the season,” Evan Boyle, sophomore, said.

Boyle is a left hand pitcher. He pitched during the third inning.

Coston Anderson, senior, played his last first game of his high school career.

“It’s kinda bittersweet. It’s great to come out and bond with new players, ” Anderson said.

Even though the Mustangs played a good game there are still some kinks which need to be worked out.

“Pitchers need to cut down on walks and some base running errors, ” Patrick Holloman, freshman, said.

Holloman is a left hand pitcher. He pitched for a couple of innings.

Beau Edwards, head coach, was impressed by how the team came out and played.

“A little rusty, got a lot of things to work on but overall proud,” Edwards said.

The next game is on Monday, Feb. 13 at Alcovy High School starting at 5:30 pm.
