Locust Grove hosts kickball tournament

In memory of Summer Lee, Locust Grove will be hosting a kickball tournament and has invited Ola to participate.

Ola High School and Locust Grove High School will be hosting a kickball tournament on Saturday, May 13 sponsored by Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy in memory of Summer Lee. All money
Four teams will represent Ola: three student teams and one faculty team. The spots are given on a first-come-first-serve basis. To reserve a pot, the team must pay five dollars per player. Teams are consisted of nine to 11 players.
The tournament will be held at Locust Grove High School at 2pm. Teams are to arrive 30 minutes early.
Teams will play in a double elimination bracket in games lasting 20 minutes.
“They are going to have other stuff there for people to do, so if you want to go and watch the games, it’s three dollars entry at the door. They’re gonna have things that kids can do, they’re gonna be selling concessions, I believe they’re going to have inflatables,” Kayla Smith, organizer, said.
The funds go toward the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a non-profit organization to help kids with type 1 diabetes in honor of Summer Lee, who also had it.
All money and forms are due by Friday, April 28 to Ms. Smith.
